Alenia Aeronautica Adds State of the Art Anechoic Chamber to Turin Test Facilities
An anechoic chamber that can accommodate a complete aircraft is the latest addition to the growing complement of Alenia Aeronautica technological facilities. The structure now undergoing its acceptance tests at the Caselle Torinese facility represents the state of the art for aircraft electromagnetic compatibility testing and high-sensitivity radiofrequency measurements. The anechoic chamber will be afford a critical capability in testing the electronics that play an increasingly important role on both commercial and military aircraft, whether manned or unmanned. The anechoic chamber shares the same building with the Skylight Simulator - the powerful system in use since 2006 to reproduce the intensity of sunlight – and using several of its ancillary systems, the anechoic chamber is a cutting-edge facility that can position antennas with nine degrees of freedom, uses a broad band radiofrequencies generator, monitors the flight parameters through a fiber optics network and the environment in both the visual and infrared spectrum.
